looks a lot like an apartment unit. Yet tenants moving into a condominium face
an environment that's quite unlike a typical apartment building.
The
Rules of Renting a Condo Part II Common areas of misunderstanding include
rules and regulations, repair responsibilities and the consequences of the
owner's nonpayment of homeowner association (HOA) dues.
Associations' rules can really hit home "It's
a useful thing," said Cohen, who is the secretary of the Berkeley Square
Homeowner's Association. "In general, they may get a bad reputation, but in the
end, the association helps maintain a certain quality of
life."
Mentally Retarded Sue, Charging Condo
Discriminated The condominium board of a Washington Heights building is
facing a discrimination lawsuit on behalf of five mentally retarded adults who
want to move in. The lawsuit, filed recently in federal court in Manhattan, is
the latest chapter in Margaret Puddington's effort to find a suitable home for
her son and four of his friends.
